No one in FPLOL’s league could match the 84 points of Arne Lunde in gameweek 9. After digging deep into his own stats and backing Liverpool defensively in the start of the season, the Norwegian thinks Sergio Agüero could make an impact against Burnley.

BRAGGING RIGHTS ROUND 10

“I made a decision to take Fantasy Premier League very seriously this season. Before gameweek 1 I studied my stats from 19/20 to see where I got the most points for my expensive players. The result was very clear – it was my defence who game me the best value. So I started the season with three defenders from Liverpool. It added some extra excitement to things differently than everyone else”.

The worst defence in Fantasy Premier League’s history?

After an average start, Lunde scored 98 points in gameweek 2 when Liverpool beat Chelsea 2-0, but disaster hit in gameweek 4 when Liverpool lost 2-7 to Aston Villa. We must be looking at some sort of a record for lowest scoring defence here.

Lunde wisely activated the wildcard before gameweek 5. Now his Tikitaka’s, with two premium assets from Spurs, are looking strong before gameweek 10. Many Fantasy managers are now struggling to decide on a way forward, with Man City going into a neon green set of fixtures out of form.

“I am a Liverpool fan but for the photo I decided to pay tribute to Maradona with my Napoli shirt. Agüero used to be his son in law, but unless he is attending Maradona’s funeral this weekend I think Agüero might be dangerous against Burnley. I also think Rashford can produce against Southampton with a defence who will probably leave at lot of space for him.”

Climbing in the FPLOL Fantasy league

Lunde has now climbed to 20th place in the FPLOL league and passed yours truly last weekend. He has no intention of stopping there though, but needs a few more good rounds to reach the Top 10.

You can join the league by clicking here. It’s free and there will be prizes for the winners.

“I love listening to podcasts then I jog, and my favourites are the official podcasts from Fantasy Premier League. My biggest Fantasy rivals are you (Roy Pedersen) and Henrik Arnesen. It brightens up my day when I find some points in players that you don’t have”.

Arnesen who Lunde is referring to featured in the very first podcast we made with FPLOL (it’s in Norwegian).

Do you have a joke for us, Arne?

(I am not sure if it’s possible to translate this in a good way but I’ll try):

“Have you heard about the lady who’s legs were so short she left mouse tracks in the snow?”.

And with that we wish Arne and the rest of you “good luck” in gameweek 10.
